He had been travelling for months now, visiting small settlements of humans, winning over their trust and having him join him in the fight against the shapeshifters. He had finally come across another settlement. He walked with great pride, and he looked like a man on a mission. That however, was exactly the case. Before entering into plain sight he waved his hand around a few times. As he did the earth crack in the center of the settlement. The earth then formed together to create a stone stage complete with steps.
Nathan then walked up the steps with no care in the world as to what people might think at seeing the ground do what it did. He stepped to the center of the stage and raised his arm out to his sides. "People of this settlement! I come before you today to offer you a resolution to our problems! For too long have we been forced to live in such ways! No more! We will rise and take the fight back to these cursed creatures, and we will show them we have no intention of laying down to die so they can take our world!"
He lowered his arms as he watched the people gather around his stage and listen curiously to what he was saying. "I can promise all of you. I have learned of a great power. It will be our secret weapon that will ultimately lead to their defeat! And now I will ask! Are you ready to take back what's yours? Are you ready to live life the way we were meant to? Free?" He watched the crowd to see their reaction. His eyes and his posture spoke nothing but truth to back up his words. He was a man that was hard not to believe when he spoke.

Rhea had wandered for several days now, she never stuck to living in just one place. She couldn’t stand the thought of forming any kind of attachments, the pain of doing so was almost unbearable. Thoughts of living peacefully with other’s always plagued her mind. What would she give to have that? But if she lost what she had it would crush her very spirit. Rhea urged herself to move on, from one settlement to the next a small part always wanting to stay. While the world was a sinister and dark place, she often found kindness in unlikely places. And one day Rhea knew that she would return the favor, by bringing the world peace but in her own way. She knew it was possible, she’d seen it with her own eyes. Death was never far away though, punishing those that didn’t take a side.
Pushing a blonde strand of hair away from her place, she walked on. Finally after hours of walking she came upon another settlement. The people here were quiet and didn’t speak much, or even look at her. She knew she was a stranger to them, and it could be dangerous to trust an outsider, still she gave them no reason to be alarmed and carried on her way. It wasn’t until she heard a voice that she stopped, it seemed to be gather the attention of many. Perhaps it was nothing, but curiosity got the better of her. She followed the wave of people who all clustered around what appeared to be a makeshift stage. A man was standing up there, and he started speaking of freedom and fighting the creatures that had slowly taken over. Rhea lost track of his words and blocked them out. Normally she would’ve just walked away but a surge of anger rushed through her. She pushed her way towards the middle to where she could get a better view.
“And how many more have to die before they’re free?” Her voice rang out through the small crowd. Some becoming almost silent as though wondering what was about to happen. “People like you always make empty promises. Hasn’t there been enough bloodshed?” In the back of her mind she wished that someone else would speak up and draw the attention away from her. Instead, all she could see were some empty looks. A few began to whisper and she took this as her cue to leave, slowly she tried to push her way back through the crowd.

He watched as the crowd had gathered and listened to what he had to say. Then he heard someone finally speak up. She had fully objected to his plans of taking back this world, and internally it infuriated him. He wouldn't let that show however. He didn't need people seeing him for what he really was. He scanned the crowd until finally he set his eyes on her. She was a young girl. Though it seemed as though no one spoke up in agreement with her. That gave him a sense of relief. It wasn't completely over for him yet. He still had the attention of the entire crowd, and from what it looked like, they were going to side with him as they always did.
"How many already die just sitting here not fighting back? Is that what we really want? Just lay here and accept defeat and let them finish killing us off? Or do we at least want to stand up against them and fight for our survival? I'd rather not give in and let them just have full reign of this world!" He shouted it out to make sure everyone could hear him. He watched as quite a few of the crowd then cheered him on. He was winning this small little fight already. He knew the people were tired of these shapeshifters pushing them towards extinction as they had already done a decent job of.
"I have aquired a power that will stand up to them on their level. No longer are they beings above us. If you will listen to me and join this cause, I will share this power with all of you." He watched as the girl started to shuffle through the crowd to leave. More people cheered him as he continued his speech.

It seemed like no one was going to side with her, but Rhea didn’t care. She was just sick and tired of someone trying to get there way. This man’s power was dangerous couldn’t these people just understand that. Those who went down this road often lost track of who they really were, revenge was like a poison and it consumed her on a daily basis. To have that kind of power at her fingertips would only bring more chaos and loss to this forgotten world. And as she walked away Rhea expected him to move on with his little speech. But she was surprised to find that he actually answered her back, like some challenge trying to draw her in. Rhea stopped in her tracks but kept looking straight ahead, there was no way she would turn around to look at him, he didn’t deserve her respect. Not that he would’ve cared in the first place.
“You say that as if we have no other choice. We don’t have to accept defeat…and we sure as hell don’t have to turn into monsters like you.” She would never forgive someone like him, weapons and magic were words that angered her. It had already killed everyone she loved. He was just another liar in her mind. “And if we win, it will be people like you who will try to control us. You prey on simple-minded people who are just looking for an end…” Rhea didn’t care what he had to say , her mind was set on the type of person he was. An enemy. A few people surrounding her started to murmur. It was always the ones in the back who were only mildly curious, she was slowly gaining support from them. Of course those near the front were more inclined to agree with him over Rhea.
She wasn’t trying to start a miniature war though, only to enlighten those around her of what would happen if they believed this man. They could take the warning as they see fit, but she wasn’t sticking around to join them. “Your so called power is more than dangerous. It’s also a lie.” That’s when she finally turned around and looked at him with challenging eyes. People in the crowd were beginning to waver. They seemed lost and confused as though wondering who to believe. Both of them were equally strange and unknown to these parts, why should anyone trust outsiders?
